The Senegalese people deserve better’ Mane

Senegalese Liverpool forward has slammed the government of Senegal after Zambia friendly interrupted by power failure. Senegal still went on to win the match with Mane among the scorers despite the power outage.

Players where sat in the dressing room for over an hour and a half after power outage in the Lat Dior Stadium in Senegal on Saturday.

Mane who opened the scoring from the penalty spot at the 22rd minute of the game, criticized the government after he was frustrated at the turn out of things and said the incident complicated the game.

He told Dakarachu: ”The Senegalese people deserve better” it’s deplorable what happened….. For-top players when you wait 30 to 35 minutes, then get back into the game it’s complicated. ”What happened is not worthy of a footballing country like Senegal. I think they have to do better. And, the state of the ground is also catastrophic” Mane added.

The game ended with a 3:1 Defent to Zambia as Mane, Diatta and Watford star Ismaila Sarr were on the score sheet for Senegal to ensure Dominic Chanda’s second half goal didn’t worry their lead.

Senegal is set to get a new stadium as they are considering plans of constructing a 50,000 capacity stadium in Dakar beginning this year in preparation to host 2026 Youth Olympic games.

Aliou Cisse’s men are in action again on June 8 when they host Cape Verde in another Friendly match.

  1. It’s a sad situation. Senegal is a giant nation in Africa and shouldn’t have such complications. Let’s hope for the best
