Late drama,controversial goal keeps Brazil’s Record intact

It was an interesting encounter between host nation Brazil as they played a vibrant Colombian side which ended with late drama and heartbreak for the Colombians.

BRAZIL COME BACK TO DEFEAT COLOMBIA IN THE ๐Ÿ’ฏ MINUTE

Luis Diaz’s stunning opening goal saw Colombia take the lead in the 10th minute. Brazil had a large share of possession but struggled to erase the deficit as Colombia held on going into the first half with a lead.

Brazil came out all guns strong and determined in the second half and Roberto Firmino’s sub in added some much-needed creative spark. Neymar came close to scoring in the 66th minute but he was denied by the post.

Colombia continued to remain compact in defence but was undone in the 78th minute in controversial circumstances when Firmino nods the ball past Ospina to bring Brazil back into the tie.

Colombian players were curious and angry at because the ball hit the referee before the ball had struck the referee during the build-up. A VAR check has been deployed.

The match was halted for a while as there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on. As the Colombians saw it as an unfortunate goal to concede as the goal was finally given.

Neymar elbowed Barrios in the face and was shown a yellow card as the players where heating up following firmino’s controversial goal. 10 minutes were added after the normal 90 minutes.

An extra time set peice from Neymar saw Casemiro head in what was the winner of the tie and Brazil had a 2-1 lead. Casemiro was completely unmarked in the box and he coolly nods the ball into the back of the net.

Brazil continues her unbeaten run since the start of the tournament winning all three matches conceding just a single goal and are top of group B and will play Ecuador on Sunday June 27. Meanwhile Colombia remains second in group B with 4pts.
