Cristiano Ronaldo ‘wants’ to coach Man Utd

The 36-year-old has enjoyed a fine start on the pitch, since he returned but is already being tipped as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replacement in the dugout after a poor run of results.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to retire at Manchester United, before becoming a part of their coaching setup, according to reports.

The 36-year-old returned to the Red Devils earlier this month, 12 years after leaving the club for Real Madrid.

Despite his influence, United have lost three of their last four games in all competitions, piling the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Defeat to Aston Villa at Old Trafford has increased the scrutiny on Solskjaer, who is yet to win a trophy since replacing Jose Mourinho in the United dugout.

According to the Sun, Ronaldo has his eyes set on a coaching role with the club, helping to guide his son Cristiano Jr.

The former Tottenham boss tipped Ronaldo to replace Solskjaer, anticipating a transition to manager in under two years.

“I can see Ronaldo as Manchester United manager within 18 months,” Sherwood told Ladbrokes a t its launch of the 5-A-Side bet on Arsenal vs Tottenham.

“I think it’s okay that Ronaldo’s on the touchline and Ole’s going to have to accept it. If he brings him to his football club you’ve got to know what you’re bringing in.

“It’s a completely different Ronaldo to the one who was at Old Trafford the first time around. He knows how he’s needed and if he feels like he needs to stand next to the manager and give instructions then you’ve got to let him do that.
