Crystal Palace manager set to leave as season ends.

The 73-year-old joined Palace in September 2017 and his final match will be the Premier League fixture against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, his 162nd competitive game in charge.

Crystal Palace have announced Roy Hodgson will leave the club at the end of the season and the veteran boss says he will not manage in the top flight again.

“After more than 45 years of coaching I have decided that the time is right for me to step away from the rigours of top-flight Premier League football, so our final two matches will be my last ones as manager of Crystal Palace,” Hodgson said.

Though he has not admitted fully that he if he continues coaching of he has retired. Hodgson has successfully maintained palace position in the premier league since his arrival still now . Gossips has it that Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is set to take over at palace.

After a season full of ups and downs for Borussia Dortmond, they finally booked a place in next season’s champions league. Raphael Guerreiro, Marco Reus and Julian Brandt scored in a 3-1 win against Mainz.

Borussia Dortmund clinched a place in the Champions League for the 10th time in 11 seasons by beating Mainz.

The achievement could be a boost to their hopes of keeping star players like Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho in Germany next season.

Dortmund were seven points off the top four in early April but have won their six Bundesliga games since. It caps a great week for Dortmund, who beat RB Leipzig 4-1 to win the German Cup on Thursday.

“Not many people believed in us,” Dortmund captain Reus said.

“The team deserves an incredible compliment. We have shown a really strong mentality in the last few weeks.

“When we have to, we are capable of great things.”

Chelsea lost two Finals within two day

A ruthless first-half performance saw Barcelona Femeni demolish Chelsea Women 4-0 to lift their first Women’s Champions League trophy.

The tone of the game was set inside a minute when Lieke Martens smashed an effort against the crossbar before Melanie Leupolz inadvertently looped the ball into her own net to gift Barcelona the opening goal.

Chelsea never really recovered. It was redemption for Barcelona after their defeat to Lyon in the 2019 final, in which they were on the end of a 4-1 defeat. There will also be plenty for Emma Hayes and Chelsea to take from their first foray into a European final.

Chelsea will be back in action on Thursday when they host Everton in the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup. There are still league games to play for Barcelona, who host Athletic Bilbao in the Primera Division on Wednesday.

A 2-1 win away at Goztepe proved enough for Sergen Yalcin’s team, who claim the title for a 16th time.

Second-placed Galatasaray had to better Besiktas’ result by three clear goals but could only manage a 3-1 win over Yeni Malatyaspor.

Third-placed Fenerbahce, who beat Kayserispor 2-1, needed both their rivals to lose to be crowned champions.

Domagoj Vida gave Besiktas an early lead, but Alpaslan Ozturk equalised for Goztepe midway through the first half.

However, Rachid Ghezzal’s penalty 20 minutes from time earned the Black Eagles their first league title since 2016-17.

Rafael Nadal to play Novak Djokovic in Rome final

Rafael Nadal secured his place in the Italian Open final with a 6-4 6-4 win over American Reilly Opelka.

At 2-1 down in the first set Nadal had to save four break points, but he then broke his big-hitting rival in the next game before going on to claim the set.

One break of serve was also enough for the 34-year-old Spaniard in the second set as he secured victory in Rome.

Nadal will play world number one Novak Djokovic, who beat Italian Lorenzo Sonego 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 6-2, in the final.

Djokovic was on court twice on Saturday as he came from a set down to beat Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas in their rain-affected quarter-final before playing Sonego after Nadal’s match.

Against Tsitsipas, the Serb trailed 6-4 2-1 when the match was suspended because of rain on Friday, but he broke serve twice when it resumed on Saturday to force a decider.

He then twice recovered from a break down in a see-saw final set to win 4-6 7-5 7-5 and reach the last four.

“Rome is such an important tournament for me. To be in the final again is so important for me,” said Nadal.

“In terms of preparation for [the French Open at] Roland Garros, I consider the job done. Tomorrow is not at all preparation. It’s a final, an important one, and I want to be competitive.”

Brandon Rogers’s Leicester city side got everything right at the first half of the game as they protected a virgin score line. But a Youri Tielemans strike at the 63rd minute turned the tie around. Chelsea struggled to put one in at the closing minutes of the 90 only to be overturned by VAR.

The Foxes last trophy was the premier league back in 2016, today they take back home the FA cup trophy.

First FA cup finals since 1969

May 2, 2016 Italian Claudio Ranieri’s unfancied squad were crowned Premier League champions is permanently ingrained in the memory of Leicester fans and Premier League lovers, but there are four other years that haunt them for all the wrong reasons.

Mention 1949, 1961, 1963 and 1969 to any Foxes supporter and they will immediately know what you are talking about.

Leicester hold the unenviable record of four FA Cup finals without a win and it is the only domestic trophy that has eluded them in their 137-year history.

Given their exploits over the past five years claiming their only top-flight title and competing in they first Champions League they have a genuine claim of being the biggest club never to win the oldest competition in the world.

But can Jamie Vardy and co put an end to Leicester’s hoodoo at Wembley on Saturday 52 years after their last final appearance?

Jesse Pye scored twice as Wolves beat Leicester 3-1 in the 1949 final which was Leicester first. Then come Bobby Smith and Terry Dyson who helped Tottenham to a 2-0 win in 1961 in Leicester city second FA cup finals. In 1963 David Herd was the hero for Manchester United in the 3:1 defeat of Leicester in what was they third finals. 52 years ago a Manchester City’s Neil Young was the scourge of Leicester in a 1:0 defeat in the 1969 finals.

There will only be 21,000 fans inside Wembley for Saturday’s showpiece due to the ongoing Coronavirus restrictions, but Brendan Rodgers will be hoping he can cement himself into club folklore by becoming the first manager to guide the club to success in the competition as he comes up against a ruthless Chelsea side.

After the most tumultuous of seasons behind closed doors, Leicester City fans will be hoping that 2021 is finally the year they get to see them add the missing piece of the jigsaw.

Midfielder Mount joined Chelsea aged six and made his first-team debut under former boss Frank Lampard in 2019.

“I want to fulfil my dreams and the dreams of the others players coming through with me,” said Mount.

“We want to win trophies. I looked at a lot of players – the legends from Chelsea – when I was at the academy and witnessed the first team winning trophies and major trophies.

“I wanted to take things from every part of their game. I wanted to follow in their footsteps. Players like Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, Petr Cech… All of them really.

“They have won major trophies and played so many times for the club.”

“From very young, I set the goal I wanted to make the first team and I didn’t let anything affect me. I was so driven.

“I didn’t let anyone tell me it wasn’t going to happen. Because I was so mentally strong, I was always telling myself I was going to do it. That has always been my focus and mentality.”

About 21,000 people will be allowed inside England’s national stadium as part of a pilot event to test the return of big crowds to venues.

Liverpool made headlines after trashing Manchester United at old Trafford for the first time since March 16 2014 in a 3:0 win. It was Jurgen Klopp the first time to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford in 6 attempts. Before tonight, he had gone more games without winning away at Man Utd than any other opponent in his managerial career – 6 games (D4 L2).

It looked like a game which was going to be delayed and postponed when Fans gathered outside Old Trafford blocking the teams way into the stadium. Not until police intervened, who later placed everything in order by maintaining peace and calmness.
