2014 World Cup-winning midfielder Toni Kroos announces his retirement from international football after winning 106 caps for Germany

The 31-years-old played his last game against England at the ongoing Euro 2020 as his country was humbled by a 2:0 defeat which was enough to knock Germany out of the one legged round of 16 ties.

Toni Kroos is a German international footballer , born on January 04, 1990in Greifswald in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the GDR . He plays as a midfielder at Real Madrid .

A member of his national team at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, he quickly became one of the Mannschaft’s must-haves, notably by scoring two goals in two minutes in the Brazil-Germany semi-final won 7-1 by his team. He was crowned world champion a few days later, at the end of the final against Argentina.
